Business Development Associate

As a Business Development Associate, you will aggressively prospect and qualify new sales opportunities with prospects via the telephone, web, email, and in-person networking events. You will promote our suite of solutions to executives and senior management in Embarc's target industries - Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, and Drug Delivery.

Essential Responsibilities

Responsibilities include heavy outgoing phone calling, conducting business-to-business sales to make appointments for Sales Representatives.

  • Identify and qualify sales leads, contacts, and possible opportunities which will be passed on to outside sales team
  • Schedule appointments (phone or in-person) with prospects and assigned Representatives for discovery about needs of prospects and education regarding Embarc's services.
  • Self directed research to find decision makers within targeted organizations.
  • Provide follow-up for marketing and lead generation initiatives, such as trade shows (pre- and post-show calling), newsletters, email campaigns, direct mail campaigns, etc.
  • Research industry/company profiles to identify key contacts at prospective customers
  • Make 70+ calls per day to a specific target market to generate highly qualified leads
  • Maintain an accurate record of results in our Salesforce.com database
  • Develop an effective, income-generating pipeline

Required Qualifications

  • Associates or BA/BS
  • Cold calling or telemarkting experience in a lead generation environment
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding established sales and call targets
  • Must be comfortable and creative calling elusive executives and business owners
  • Must demonstrate skills that show an ability to get around gatekeepers and connect with decision makers
  • Ability to determine customers' needs and articulate how our solutions satisfy these needs
  • Self-motivation, results-oriented, persistence, persuasion
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Proficient with internet navigation
  • Experience with Salesforce.com a plus
